Fountain Hills Will Host Many Of The Sports Events In The 2012 Lori Piestewa Games July 20th – July 22nd
July 20th – July 22 some 5,000 participants will honor fallen Iraqi war hero, Lori Piestewa at the 2012 Lori Piestewa Games. Hosted by Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. Games will be played in Fort McDowell Indian Community, Salt River Indian Community and the Greater Fountain Hills area. Fountain Hills is proud to be part of this largest Native American sports festival in the United States. It is now in its 11th year.

It’s been a year since my last attendance at a Memorial Day service in Fountain Hills. Not only was I thankful to be part of an event that we as citizens take for granted in this country, but I was truly humbled and honored to sit amongst the young and the old that have served our country in World War 11, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Iraq and Afghanistan and I am looking forward to doing it again this year.
